Pep, weren't you initially going with 8GB? Good thing you chose 16GB which is the norm now. Games like DX:MD use a lot of ram.
Next two purchases for me are: Mafia III and Battlefield 1 in October.

I highly recommend the kraken water coolers. They're completely self contained systems, just take it out of the box and plug it in. No more difficult than installing an air cooler. Super cool and it really cleans up the inside of your case too.

Mad Max seems really cool! Running at 1440p max settings.
Having some framerate issues though :/
Seems ok hovering around 96fps then I get these fucking huge drops down to 85fps at times with Gsync enabled.
Fucking PC gaming!

Re: Master Race gaming thread
I've had a 212 and a Noctua D-14 (or 15 I think), both are great and will give you good overclocks if you want, otherwise will be quiet and cool. Can definitely recommend either but agreed that stock is fineRorschach wrote:The Noctua U14S set me back $120. I think eBay lists the 212 for around $70-80. Or just go stock until you can afford one, I used a stock cooler for about 2 years before upgrading
Re: Master Race gaming thread
Yeah, definitely can't overclock on stock and it is noisy as all fuck under load but it does the job. Plus it's free.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
I have a question for the master race, if I buy a 40 inch monitor, will I be able to run it at 21:9 for my racing games or should I just buy an ultra wide display

Re: Master Race gaming thread
Buy 3 smaller monitors for that cockpit experience. Will seem bigger than the 40" running in letterbox at 21:9.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
Correct.
Actually are there any particular games that are decent that can run on the 3 monitor set up? I should probably consider some games to suit the 3 monitor racing cockpit I have.

You get a significant advantage when playing mp fps games on multiple monitors but for me driving games will always be where it's at unless you want to dive into VR.GeneraL CyberFunK wrote:Correct.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
Yeah and since I have VR I'm not too keen on going with triples as it's only going to be used with non VR racing games. Hence why I am leaning toward a ultra wide or a 40inch monitor as then I will have more use outside of racing games if I choose too.t0mby wrote:You get a significant advantage when playing mp fps games on multiple monitors but for me driving games will always be where it's at unless you want to dive into VR.GeneraL CyberFunK wrote:Correct.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
Personal preference only but I would go ultrawide. 40 inches is a lot of real estate to cover and games that are specifically suited to 21:9 look awesome.

How many games support that screen ratio? I'm guessing not many.
Re: Master Race gaming thread
I tend to go for productivity as well, ultrawides are great for work flow. If just for gaming and versatility then probably 40 inches is where you are heading.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
So yeah, 1440p is pretty awesome. Finally taking full advantage of the 980ti. Just for those with Predators, what settings do you use? I had to dial the brightness all the way down, really bright out of the box.

Have you seen this website?
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xb271hk.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think that's last year's model, but it looks the same.
You should find some calibration settings on that webpage.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
60 brightness here, custom colour with R 92, G 92, B 100. For me that gives white whites. I kinda hate whites that have any hint of green/blue/red in them, most calibrations tend to put things on the warmer/yellow side.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
anyone have any issues with the latest geforce driver? It wouldn't install from the geforce experience - just sits there forever. I manually downloaded it, removed the existing driver, but then the new one wouldn't install. First time I've had issues installing drivers for a long time.
Re: Master Race gaming thread
I stopped using the GeForce Experience a while ago. Download the most recent driver direct and download DDU - it will wipe your graphics drivers from safe mode. Basically just follow the steps and when you log back in install the nVidia driver, it will work.

Word going around is Destiny 2 is coming to PC.

Be good to play it in 60fps with kbam.

Re: Master Race gaming thread
Read this early, that is pretty awesome. An option to get out from behind the console online paywall is attractive. That and 60fps plus/1440p resolution will be awesome.
