But others will argue the penalty for Parramatta wasn't enough. The article echoes what I mentioned earlier - there is a lot to like about the Storm. Personnel-wise they are top notch.
Playing-wise... they've really hurt the game with their style. It's really only been the last couple of years where teams have been winning from playing football again. You can't really blame them for exploiting it, everyone wants to win, but that and the salary cap have made them look bad, for sure.

Working salary caps in elite team sport is as old as it gets. It's good sledge fodder for opposition fans when teams are caught but it's naive to think cap rorting isn't happening as we speak. Melbourne weren't the first NRL team to win a GF while in breach of the cap either. Over to you, CA.

I'm a shit troll. I feel compelled to defend my own post. CA can probably fill us in further. Canberra's 1990 cap breach came about because they had representative bonuses written into contracts for their players. Because they were the powerhouse side of the day they paid a bunch of rep bonuses. I think it was the bonuses only that pushed them over. Not an example of deliberate, protracted, year in year out rorting.

I like it.
I'm not sure about this Holmes/Ferguson wing combo. Surely it should be Oates/Mansaur.

Oates is too brittle. Mansour/Holmes I think

Mansour will be there but not in the first match. He is getting married that weekend. Likewise with Aaron Woods.
I think on 2016 form the winger pecking order should be Mansour, Holmes, Oates, everyone else in the train on squad and Blake Ferguson as the last resort. I really don't know how the fuck he and Josh Dugan have made this squad. They were average as fuck for Australia earlier in the year, they haven't done shit in 2016 at any level and they weren't even part of successful teams. Their form was average as were the teams they played for.
Fuck BJ Leilua for getting injured. Inglis and Bj in the centres would be ridiculous.

Won't argue that Holmes had a better year than Oates, but I ask myself 'who would Queensland pick?' and it's Oates over Holmes every day.

Re: NRL 2K16 - season over thank fuck
Well had Holmes not been banned it could have been both Holmes and Oates. Oates had a shocking end to the season with his butter fingers.
But in an Australian team surrounded by the best players up against inferior opposition any of these guys could do the job. New Zealand are the only threat to Australia. But with some big names out for various reasons they are losing a touch of class in their 1 to 7 to be considered our equals IMO.

Shocking middle third, he was actually strong at the end of the year. And it's probably because of that I can at least accept Holmes' selection. I don't think Holmes is better, though.

England sucked balls last night. Should have at least drawn, for some reason they opted to go to Burgess instead of slotting over an easy 1 pointer.

There's still League being played? NFL, NBA and College Football are all happening. I'll tune back in for the Raiders premiership run in 2017.

The only time I watch international tests are when the Pacific Islands are playing each other. No interest in AUS/NZ/UK snorefests

Re: NRL 2K16 - season over thank fuck
I enjoyed the Australia vs Scotland match. But mostly because it's probably the only time Matt Moylan will wear Green and Gold despite being man of the match. I think he should be on the bench ahead of Michael Morgan based on their 2016 seasons. Although with how shit the centres (aside from Inglis) have been, I would have Morgan at right centre ahead of Dugan, O'Neil and Ferguson.
1. Boyd
2. Mansour
3. Inglis
4. Morgan
5. Holmes
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Woods
11. Cordner
12. Frizzell
13. Merrin
14. Moylan
15. Klemmer
16. Boyd
17. Thaiday / Gillett
I know that won't happen. But Morgan at centre in average form is still a huge upgrade on the alternatives. Dugan and O'Neil looked average against a minnow side. If they were remotely decent they would have absolutely carved up. Morgan looked better at centre after Dugan got taken off then any other player has outside of Inglis.
The Dugan/Ferguson combination is that bad I could see them costing Australia if the game was close. Both are playing out of position and it shows. They aren't as good as Greg Inglis... they can't just pull on any backline jersey and deliver a man of the match performance.

Re: NRL 2K16 - season over thank fuck
Ok Mansour has an ACL injury and will miss the four nations, his pre-season and probably the start of 2017. Ferguson will get to hkeep his spot now.
Wallace had surgery on both hands. Will have a disrupted preseason now also.
Its like there's a curse to prevent Panthers having 2 good seasons in a row. This is how our 2015 pre-season went after it was expected we would build off a top 4 season in 2014.
Neither injury can even be blamed on Panthers medical staff. Wallace was fishing and had a freak accident. Mansour was away with Australia training for his.

Australia rest their halfback and still win comfortably without playing anywhere near their potential. The Kiwis are going to need to improve a lot for our next encounter. Australia will have their best available 17 for that game and really should be putting in more effort than they have so far.

Yeah I only watched the last 30 mins and Australia looked poor, but NZ worse. NZ have gone a long way backwards since Kearney left.

Re: NRL 2K16 - season over thank fuck
Well this Four Nations has been a joke. Australia has fiddled with their top 17 for each match and won all 3 games.. giving them more wins than the other teams combined. The team we will face in the final is a team we recently beat without Cooper Cronk and had tinkered with our lineup a bit.
Our opposition are a team we have beaten comfortably already, who scraped in a win against England and could only manage a draw against Scotland while we put on 50+ points with our B team.

I'd call that a comfortable win. Austtalia havent played anywhere near their best yet and have been in control of every match.

Well that was an easy win against opposition who had no right being there.

I didn't get to watch it, couldn't stay up!
100% agree that NZ should not have been there. They are woeful. England are moronic, Bennett is right - they beat themselves. They could have wrapped up a draw against NZ easily but went for the win. They would have gone through with a draw against NZ.
It's a bit sad that International League hasn't gone anywhere in a while though. Up the kangas!

That Scotland win was pretty good. And by win, I mean draw, but it was pretty good.
