Adorable indeed! They're so cute and lovable, don't you just want to hug them!
Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Saw this bundle being advertised, a little expensive but not too bad. Tempted to chuck one on layby.

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Do EB price match hardware? I'm guessing no.
So there's nothing else besides Zelda worth picking up? It's a real shame it's a poor launch again.

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Nothing that really stands out as a must buy.
1-2-Switch
Fast RMX
Just Dance 2017
Human Resource Machine
I Am Setsuna
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Little Inferno
Shovel Knight
Skylanders: Imaginators
Snipperclips
Super Bomberman R
World of Goo
Grabbed that off Gamespot. Again, only Zelda is a must buy. Bomberman may have potential but I doubt it. Setsuna is decent but is by no means a system seller at all. Overall, pretty disappointing, yet again.

If you remove Zelda, it's the weakest console launch lineup in decades.
I'm hoping Bomberman is good of course!

I don't understand all the moaning about price. Noobs spend as much on half a dozen SNES carts. And with inflation taken into account, it's one of the cheapest new console launches ever.

The value isn't there, yet, for the price they're asking.
Subjective, of course.

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Basically value, you can get a PS4 Pro for $30 more or pay a couple of hundred less for a Xbone or normal PS4 and get multiple games. Nintendo have done this the last three generations. Releasing subpar hardware and lacklustre software.

Have to admit, this looks like a true 3D realisation of A Link to the Past

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
I will say this, asking $79 for Bomberman in 2017 is appalling.
Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
It feels like Nintendo is gearing up to launch a console that will end it's home console business, it's sad.
Vzzzbx, you lose again!
Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Hardware wise I think the GameCube was their last, best effort. I miss 90s Nintendo, they built games around top flight hardware and not around gimmicks

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
They struck gold with mania over the Waggle and keep trying to recreate it which will never happen as 90% who bought one felt burnt from it's gimmick and actual gamers got a system with press A to win games. That and the repetition of the same tired games being about the only games you can get these days without any new decent IP or anything en masse is gonna kill this one before it even gets started. It's hard to get excited by launching with Mario 123, Mario Tennis 72, Zelda 59 etc.Rorschach wrote:Hardware wise I think the GameCube was their last, best effort. ^^ nailed it.
Do we think the Wii U version will be in somewhat low supply? I want it, but don't want to buy it yet.

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Impressions of Zelda are coming through on NeoGAF and it looks like another case of the games press slurping a Nintendo game whilst the reality isn't quite so good.
What I'm reading so far has completely unsold me on even the Wii U version of the game, let alone thinking about possibly dumping $500 into a Switch.

I scan read most pages of that thread and didn't digest any deal breakers?
Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Yeah, some pretty mixed impressions there. The Wii U version sounds underdone.

Re: The Official Nintendo Switch Thread
Whats put me off -
Standard open-world RPG, lots of barren places...but Zelda themed. Nothing you won't already get in an Ubisoft game.
If you're emotionally invested in the Zelda series, you're buying this regardless.
I personally don't think any Zelda game has matched LTTP even taking into account how Ocarina changed gaming. LTTP was still the better game IMO.
So if you're not a complete Zelda homer, going from The Witcher 3 to this feels like "I'm not spending $500".
