I just preordered the Aorus 1080ti xtreme edition, should hopefully ship tomorrow if PCCG eta date is correct.

Dammit, I feel like buying one of these cards. Will stay strong until 4K 144Hz Gsync monitors drop

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
Finally got and installed my Aorus 1080ti extreme edition last night, card is very quiet and suits my build now, I have an aorus z270 gaming 7 and it all goes nice together.
So far I've been able to add +50 and +400 to core/memory, with +100 voltage the card sits at 2038/12000 mhz with temps in the 71~73 degree range. Seems to be the max these cards do.
Nice improvement over my zotac 1080, seeing a good 30-40% jump in games to the point now where my 7700k @ 5ghz is becoming more of a bottleneck now.
I was able to redeem the free game code off the Aorus page too, so I got GR wildlands which is a nice bonus.

Waiting for the Predator X27 to drop. 4K@144Hz, G-Sync and HDR. Expected it to cost north of $2000 but saving now. On my current setup will have to upgrade the 1070 to something beefier but I want to make it bleed first before Volta drops.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
I decided to keep my old gtx 1080 and put it into my old 2500k TJ08-e htpc setup. Figured I turn it into a steam box. It's been quite cool playing PC games on the Pana and this hardware setup is a monster for playing anything at 1080p. I need to pick up another drive for it. Only have 1tb in it currently.

That's what I've been doing, using the Xbone controller. I call it high-end console gaming at 60fps.
143hrs on BF1 PC using controller. Love it.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
I paired a 980Ti with a 4770K for my TV build. It's only a 1080p panel so won't be needing to upgrade it for quite a few generations.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
Xbone controller I received with my oculus rift has stopped working ( the Xbox logo doesn't light up)I use it with the wireless receiver all the time. First I thought it was the batteries, but put in a new pair done nothing . I don't think I have had a controller not work on me, besides the inbuilt battery losing its charge.
Tried plugging it via USB still no light.
I might get the One S controller. Hopefully it works with the receiver.
Update:
Tried some 'fixes' on YouTube, such as banging the device for a bit but still no light. Today I was going to open it but I pressed the Home button and the light started flanshing again. So I don't know wtf is happening.
Update 2:
Put on pc now to try it and it wouldn't turn on.
Update 3.
Bought One S controller.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
My accountant has asked me to go shopping, so shopping I shall go.
Going to build a new PC based around my Acer Predator 4K monitor and the 1080Ti GPU I recently bought -
I7-7700 CPU
32GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM
Gigabyte Z270X mobo
Samsung 500gb SSD
Seagate 6Tb HDD
And the usual bells and whistles - huge fuck-off case, 1000w PSU, Logitech KB/Mouse combo etc
Will put my old 980Ti GPU back into my old case and pair it up with my previous Predator monitor (1440p 144Hz Gsync) so my wife has herself a vastly overqualified work computer

I still think this is the best looking huge fuck off case. It's also my case
Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
Surely you mean an i7700K? Also, if you are spending coin get a Hitachi 6TB NAS. Still spins at 7200rpm but more reliable than Seagate.Candy Arse wrote:

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
A friend of mine is downsizing to a gaming laptop for personal and work reasons and is selling me his rig for cheap -
CPU - i7 6700K
Cooler - Cooler Master D92
Mobo - ASUS Z170A
RAM - Kingston Hyper X 16gigs 2133
SDD (OS) - Samsung EVO 850 250gig
SDD (Games) - Samsung EVO 850 500gig
GPU - Zotac 1070 AMP! Edition
Case - NZXT H440 (White)
PSU - EVGA Supernova G2 750W
OS - Windows 10 Home
Comes out still to around $2700 but he is letting it go for $1200. He built it with silence in mind, don't like the cooler but could replace with an AIO water loop at some point. Don't need it but that is a bargain. Looking to offload my TV rig with the 980Ti in it now.
Up the Master Race.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
That's a steal considering a 1070 alone would set you back at least $500
Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
Yeah, feel bad for him because he doesn't want to sell it but needs fast cash and that's what I can afford. Watched him build it last year.

Yep 7700k CPU! I've changed over to the Hitachi HDD too.
As much as I'm free-spending at times, $1200 for a case I actually can't justify! That's almost 3x the cost of what I'm getting

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
Yeah, thought so. I love Phanteks though, grab a Primo or something from Lian Li or NZXT_b

Saw this pretty amazing and decently priced Samsung 4K at HN the other day. Now if I only had the hardware to run games at 4k/60fps.
Just might pop back in there to get the model number. It was just over 2k.

Re: GR ~ PC Hardware thread
My personal opinion only but wait for the new Acer/ASUS quantum dot, HDR, Gsync panels coming later in the year. Harvey Norman stuff is always overpriced anyway.

Sorry, I was talking about a tv not pc monitor. I think this one was a quantum dot.
