Re: Playstation 4 thread
I picked up the Crash trilogy as well from JB. Was $49. On my Pro and the new 4K tv, game looked fucking beautiful! I started by playing the original and find I'm not controlling Crash with the analog stick but with the directional pad! Game is as great as I remember. Did I mention it looks beautiful?! Well it does!

No PSVR for Wipeout though which is surely a missed opportunity.

Playstation 4 thread
Besides running at 30fps, the 3D was brilliant on my set (lg passive 3D) I remember just being in awe looking at the ship model.
Even though 3D TVs are no more, it lives on in VR with zero crosstalk.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
It's a shame that all games didn't support 3D this gen. I've got a lot of the 3D games from the PS3 catalog including the 2012 London Olympics. I know some are meh, but the 3D does add that little bit extra, like all the dust floating around in a room in Splinter Cell, or climbing a Colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. Because home tellies were small compared to being in the cinema you need to sit closer so the edge of the telly is at the edge of your peripheral vision to really enjoy the 3D effect at home.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
Had my first taste of modern VR via PSVR last night. Holy shit. The Ocean Descent demo and shark attack. Managed to stay with it until the end but it took a lot of energy to do so. The London heist demo brilliant too. Lighting another dude's cigar, checking my phone and an Uzi shootout from the passenger seat of our getaway van after a diamond heist. Take back what I said about Wipeout on PSVR too. I've never suffered motion sickness with conventional games but was queezy after a few laps of Driveclub. Wouldn't last 5 mins playing a VR Wipeout.
Checked out some big PS4 games on a pro console and 4K panel too. Horizon Zero Dawn's visuals are amazing.

Make sure you give resident evil 7 a go in vr but be sure to fix the turning options in the menu.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
I was too cooked to try RE7 last night. Next time. I was delicate driving home and getting into bed after playing. Strange. Similar to how you feel after a long haul flight or cruise with some added nausea. My VR legs a few sessions away it would seem.

Make sure you do ease yourself into re7 as it does make a lot of people sick when you fix the controls to free flowing.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is 2017's Best Selling Game of 2017 in just 2 Days, beating the likes of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

As soon as I read this I wondered what you were thinking hehe.Peppermint Lounge wrote:Take back what I said about Wipeout on PSVR too.
VR goes up another big notch when you have motion controllers, in large part because they then allow games that are still very 'VR', but require no travelling, and thus no sickness. There can't be many VR games that use a game controller but don't involve travelling. (In case you aren't sure, the old inaccurate waggle isn't a thing in VR.)

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017- ... ed-buttons" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
PlayStation's YouTube channel has uploaded the in-engine Anthem footage shown at E3 running on Xbox One X - but with poorly-Photoshopped PS4 buttons.
Fans noticed the footage was identical but, given the benefit of the doubt, it could just be the same demo running on PlayStation 4 Pro, right?
Nope. Over the weekend, eagle-eyed viewers spotted someone had simply edited the footage to overlay PlayStation 4 controls. There are frames where the edit fades in where both the original Xbox control prompts and PS4 overlay can be seen.

I don't own a 4K TV yet ( but congrats on purchase) but H:ZD is the pinnacle of visual fappertry. 30 hours in and I haven't played anything that looks this so mind-boggling good. It's simply stunning. A masterpiece. A technical Tour de France. I could say more but I'm on my last underpants for the week.

I have one last mini project to work on for my business site and I will be heading back to Horizon to finish it. Tempted to lash out and get a 4K TV since they are reasonably okay priced.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
Character model zoomed in during gameplay. Not a fancy cutscene model ( which happen to look identical to gameplay)
Yes, I'm obsessed with the visuals in this game. It's like the first time I attempted to play Crysis on PC. It's not just the characters that look spectacular, the entire game has this consistency.

That is amazing, 3D blackheads
Re: Playstation 4 thread
Wow, crazy good.
It's funny how we can look at a real face and be like "ok great."
Then we look at a well done CG model and we' re like...

Mine was shipped last Thursday but I'm still only up to Chapter 7 on Zero so no hurry.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
hahaha I'm going to restart Yakuza 0 tonight and start fresh on my new TV.
I saw the Kiwami steel book edition at JB so grabbed it on the way through.
Any old Sega/Shenmue fans here on the Ranch who DON'T play the Yakuza games should get on them pronto....

Re: Playstation 4 thread
Yeah, seconded. Yakuza is now my favorite rpg beat em up franchise, I've played nothing but since June. Something like 250hrs over 3 games.

Re: Playstation 4 thread
Going to get back into Yakuza I think, so I might start by first picking up Yakuza 0. I've only played Yakuza 4 but didn't complete it. I think it's worth getting into this series if you have a PlayStation.
