WayForward's Mummy game

Post by GameHED »

Thought this was worth pimping as I liked Alien Infestation on the nintendo DS:

Good to see old school side scrolling games being made by these guys.

Steamworld Dig 2, Mummy Demastered, Sonic Mania, Cuphead, Metroid Samus Returns etc ...so many cool 2D games to play. Argh I can't keep up.

Nice soundtrack for listening in your car: (takes me back to the 1980s and these are like missing tracks an amiga pinball dreams game)
For a licensed game they sure made a polished product. Aliens on the Nintendo DS and this are bloody good. They should aproach microsoft about making a Halo 2Dplatform shooter metroidvania where you are space marines clearing out Flood zombies that have infested abandoned bases. Make it horror porn game with moody lighting and lot of frequent death to keep you on your toes. (procedurally generated worlds and bases like terraria. But you can pilot vehicles and fast travel risk free once you radio for assistance - doesn't work in caves and underground bases though. Signal is weak the deeper underground you go,which forces you to act more stealthy and less trigger happy the dfurther down you explore for clues about what happened.)

Looks to be shorter game overall to other metroidvanias._
If you didn't buy Axiom Verge yet, check that out first. This looks more like metroid fusion and Alien 3 sidescrolling action platform game than super metroid.

This game looks fucking ace. I'm probably going to pick it up on the Switch so I've got something to roll straight into when I'm done with Odyssey.

WayForward have an amazing knack for turning dogshit IP into a really good game.

Bought the game. Will be playing tonight.

BTW, for those who are late to the party who like these types of games, check out Momodora, Blaster MasterZero, Hollow Knight, Wonderboy Dragon's Trap, Shantae 1/2 genie hero, and Metroid Samus Returns.
And those who just like old arcade platformers check out Wonderboy 1 remake:
