I might be completely wrong here as I've never played it, but I'm assuming everyone fucks off when the get killed (to find another game), rather than wait 20mins for the next round, yeh?
So whoever does eventually win, ends up having no one to witness it, besides (maybe) a handful of people. So they end up having to post their results outside of the game on forums etc.
So that unfortunate side effect of online gaming (people quitting) actually ends up being free advertising and great word of mouth.
Then again, giving how new gamers seem to just love watching complete strangers play games (outside of comps), maybe I'm wrong and they all stick around and watch the whole game -_-.

Once you're dead there's no spectator cam, apart from a fixed camera that looks at your dead body. So unless the game happens to end up within 5 metres of where you died you won't see anything of the rest of the match. So definitely, people exit when they die.

Hehe, reminds me of when Ram used to come over to Lan and we'd share an internet connection and play Counterstrike. Firstly it would trick the server and stack the team 7 vs 6 and second which ever of us would die first we'd fly around and tell the other where the enemy was.
Good times.

When you spectate in squad you only get the view of whoever you're spectating. So there is some coaching/spotting but you're limited by what the player is looking at.
Said it on Discord and will say here for the rest of GR. 1.0 is a massive leap. Night and day. It actually looks good and performance is ridiculously improved. FPS is locked in towns, around other players. A little rubber banding when rounds begin occasionally but it feels like a finished game now.

Not only the content additions but the overall performance update has been incredible. As you say once they fix the rubber banding it will be incredible.
I've been playing solos again and enjoying it. The original still delivers. Normal solo games spawn bots now so there are some easier kills to be had. You're playing against people in the later game of course. There are no bots in ranked matches. There's a new Erangel-sized map on the verge of release - Taego. New gameplay features exclusive to Taego include self-revives and a gulag-like second chance mini BR game which if you win transports you back to the round. No duos available in this new map for some reason. I played another new-ish map for the first time today - Paramo. One mildly annoying thing is you can't choose your map. Select a normal game and you are randomly dropped in Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok Vikendi or Paramo. The Taego update will let you pick Taego though. Apparently an ex-Blizzard guy is in charge of PUBG lore and it's pretty elaborate.
