The nicknamed "Duke" controller for the original Xbox was big, bold and tough. On June 11, Hyperkin, a video game hardware development company from Los Angeles, announced that - in partnership with Xbox - it is bringing back The Duke for the Xbox One family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X) and Windows 10 PCs. Hyperkin's Research and Development team sought the assistance and the blessing of Seamus Blackley, who played an integral part in the original Xbox team.
The Duke sports a faithful recreation of the original controller's form-factor with some updated features: a logo display screen, left and right bumpers, and a 9 ft. detachable cable.

Lol, the Duke wasn't bad, but when the controller S landed for the OG Xbox it was far and away the better controller.

Yeah Duke wasn't bad, but it sure wasn't good either.
Controller S was 1000x better and really set the standard for console controllers moving forward.

Duke sticks were awesome for FPS but that was about it. Controller S was the king, despite poor start/select placement

Duke out in March. The monster logo replaced with an OLED display that plays the original xbox's starting animation. Sold.

Re: THE DUKE IS BACK
Yeah not a fan of the duke, the controller S was the beginning of the refinement to the ultimate controller in the xbox one.

THE DUKE IS BACK
Not quite ultimate it would seem as MS also releasing a new and improved Elite controller around the same time.

Re: THE DUKE IS BACK
The Elite is just the pro extension for those that want more customization(stick length, pad type etc) and the weightier feel due to the metal parts. I believe the new Elite is probably going to be much more durable, I heard a lot of people complain about long term durability for the Elite.
There is a big difference between the first production run of Xbone controllers to the current ones you get now, the sticks don't get loose over time, they just seem to hold up to abuse longer, the bumpers have a nicer click/feel to them and are easier to hit.
So I guess there is always room for improvement.

I always liked the Duke. However I am more interested in the Elite ver 2 that's coming out.

Re: THE DUKE IS BACK
I remember going back to the Duke after using an S for awhile, and the buttons felt terrible. They were so... convex, and hard.
I wonder how quickly this re release gets tossed aside after using it and immediately realising it's (now-a-days) shit.
