Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I told them to hold back because I didn't want Candy Arse to be able to play it on the master race system. Rockstar know that console is the superior platform because people tend not to pirate stuff. But now is the time they can milk the old game.
PC gamers for years kept looking down on the peasant. They've done their time. It's ok for rockstar to allow them to have sloppy seconds.
It's the age of the remaster too. So if they are going to do it, now is the time to milk nostalgia for the past.
Shen Mue isn't exclusive to Dreamcast anymore is it? Why would you think RDR 1 should be exclusive forever?
And remember when Candy made fun of nintendo fans for not getting port of Dragon Ball Fighter Z and then it finally appears on Switch? You probably don't because you were scared he would ban you if you made fun of him too much.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Wow must have hit a nerve. They were close bros. I shit on Witcher 3 for not having good controls, didn't play fighting games with him, and disagreed with his opinion about nintendo killing home console to go mobile. (it's ironic because it's blizzard that is quitting PC to go mobile LOL hahahahahahahahahahaahahahaah (these are pc devs and lot of fans are pissed. Do you know what it means? end of gold quality blizard and beginning of the Activision version of blizzard ....grrrr) The truth hurts. To grow you must accept that it was a mistake to not believe the warnings. I told you all ages ago when blizzard was trying to promote "always online" it was a sneaky way to meter fun and ration it as a profit maximisation measure. It was a sign they didn't really care about the product quality but more about how they can squeeze more dollars from you at the expense of the experience. Treating paid games like MMOs IE putting lots of grinding in things for the sake of it. It was a warning of things to come for the future but nobody listens. When big publishers do this it sets a bad example for other companies to follow and result in collapse of industry due to customers feeling like they are being treated like cattle.
Double A developers and Indie (with high talent at a small size) is the future. All these triple A publishers have lost the plot and just jump onto trends. Look to developers like From Software, nintendo, CDPR, Sony in house developers, and Sega (recent times) to lead from here on. They listen, we buy. Capcom is also improving (megaman is back, MHW is amazing boost to the profile of the niche series, and DMC sequel looks good). While companies like Bioware? no hope man.. They are victims of Entryism. Have a nice day. Don't let it get you down. It's just reality.

I don't play the game, it was a video of a deer carcass being roped then pulled from the water, but it's still the most fulfilling thing I've read on this forum in days.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I shot that deer just as it started running into the water...by the time it went down it was too deep to retrieve. I'd never lassoed a kill from deep water...wasn't sure I could but there you have it...video evidence. That kill was worth over ten (in-game) dollars so it was worth a try.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Interesting. I've had a few kills get away from me as they went too deep in the water to retrieve.

I'm playing Far Cry 5 which has its share of fauna and hunting. Mind the turkeys.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Some people complained they were overpowered and had to be weakened but the fun of them is that they are the unexpected threat that keeps you on your toes during boring times. Not all predators have to look badass. A group of weaker ones can overcome a big slower one that is tired and injured from lots of fighting with other predators of the same class. Mammoths in Far Cry Primal are terrifying when a herd attacks you. They will not stop when you run away and actually pursue you till you are dead like a crazed assassin. But in isolation they are a big target and easy to set up with traps which they will stomp on when they charge. It would be a more boring game if you only ever had to deal with one at a time like other animals. When confronted with a herd your only choice is take the herb that increases run speed or jump on a sabretooth tiger and ride it to safety. There is one cool mission with grapple hooks to escape boss mammoth charging you. Some of the scariest moments in gaming.

Pc version Nov 5th. Weird how last night I was playing the PS4 version and thought it's almost a year since release and still no PC version then when I log on FB today I see the R* story at the top of the page mentioning the release date.

Such an amazingly crafted environment, without peer and hard to believe, but just as unbelievably dull to play. I could not sit through that again.
Even the ending was terrible.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Weird, for me it's one of the greatest games this generation. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've fast traveled. I ride my horse everywhere, the random events are just never ending and always something new to be impressed by. I feel I have explored everywhere that's available (still haven't been to Blackwater yet) yet I do a mission or side quest and I end up somewhere that just impresses me.Deef wrote:Such an amazingly crafted environment, without peer and hard to believe, but just as unbelievably dull to play. The gameplay has issues here and there but that's Rockstar games to a T.
I wish there was a timer in the stats as I'm sure I've put in over 200 hrs easily.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Yeah, it sounds like you got the experience they were intending to deliver. For me I was just wishing there was more playful gaming in it. Still worth owning just for its world. I mean, it's not even that the environment is technically amazing; it's the skill in design of the land and atmosphere that I'd wager won't even be beaten during next gen.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I'd be tempted but I'd only bother with online. The thing about that is I'm more comfortable playing GTA online in the console environment...less cheaters, less chances to be screwed over by a cheater. Cheaters have apparently gotten innocent players banned by spawning cash in front of them, flagging that player as a cheater. I haven't seen that happen on LIVE and I've played for 6 years now. That's why I'd rather stick to Red Dead Online in LIVE.

I only just finished the main story yesterday and a couple of missions into the Epilogue. Looking forward to exploring Blackwater finally.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Lost interest in the xbox version, the input lag and sluggyness just took the fun out of the game for me. Not sure if the PC version will resolve the sluggish input delay. I think it's just the way the game is with its excessive animations.
