Late notice as I think it ends Dec 1 but Coles has eshop cards for 15% off, eshop is having quite a big sale too, DekuDeals does a good job of highlighting them, decent first party sales with a few at 33% off.

I grabbed Mr Driller as finally on sale, half price at $15. Bomberman R is $11, I've heard mixed things but apparently patched and added a lot since launch and I'm always keen for couch multi bomberman. Katamari Reroll is $10, will be good to play again.

Currently making my way through the No More Heroes games, onto Desperate Struggle at the moment and actually kind of missing the open world. I kind of hated it on the Wii version, but oddly really enjoyed it on the Switch, cruising around the kind of empty Santa Destroy something cathartic about it, broke up the missions a little too.

Missing the 3d side jobs too, some of the 2d ones I have hated in Desperate Struggle.

Bummer, I missed that last post. Would have stocked up big time on the eShop cards!

I picked up Horace after revisiting Deef's short treatise in the "rate the last game you finished" thread. Such an endearing game. 90% off ($2.25) until the end of the month.

Interesting things to me.
Average overall. No Bayo3. No SMT5.

- Outer Wilds
Could have my arm twisted to play this now it's on Switch.

- Samurai Warriors 5
I like a good MUSOU game, and I like the art style on this one.

- Mario Golf
100% Day one.

- Capcom arcade stadium
Eh. Seen it all before. I'll get my free 1943, and see what the prices are like.

- Plants V Zombies Battle for Neighborville
Missed its window. Should have been on the Switch years ago. When it bombs, it'll be more excuse for EA to ignore the Switch

- Project Triangle Strategy
Octopath tactics game. Looks interesting. Demo is out today.

- Ninja Gaiden Master Collection - June 10
Yeah, I'll probably get this.

- Ghosts and Goblins Resurrection - Feb 25
I'll probably get this too. It looks really nice.

- Splatoon 3
Day 1, but it's not until 2022

-----
- DC Super Hero Girls Teen Power
Damn this looked fucking terrible. A real low point of the Direct.

Thanks for the write up, didn’t get to watch it.

I really don’t need to buy anything as my backlog of Switch games is embarrassing.

Getting back Fire Emblem: Three Houses. :)

Damn, GnG Resurrection looks great. Huge nostalgia waves seeing those same enemy designs from my C64 days brought to life on newer hardware, and you can't go wrong with that soundtrack. I don't remember ever finishing the remake on the PSP, and I probably won't finish this one either.

Also have my eye on Outer Wilds, which I keep getting mixed up with Outer Worlds.

Pokemon Unite has gone up on the Japanese store for open beta, in prep for official global release in July.
So if you have a Japanese account, you can pop over and download it and play.
I can speak and understand some Japanese, but I can't read a damn word, so it's not super easy to navigate the UI, but if you've ever played a MOBA before, you should be ok.
I played it for a couple of hours last night and had a lot of fun with it.

So I've spent quite a bit of time on it. I've reached level 10. I've played as every Pokemon released in the beta.
Get used to hearing about Pokemon Unite (or pokemoba as I prefer to call it).
This thing is going to be fucking huge.
I reckon it'll be the number one moba by mid 2022, particularly if they put it on PC.
Buy Nintendo shares.

I didn't want to believe the haters about Mario Golf.
But I did the RidgeRock Lake (XC Golf) section of Story Mode last night, and it was pretty bad. :(

I've finished the story mode, the XC stuff is probably the worst but it doesn't get much better. Can't say I've played a Mario Golf game before but I was expecting something better than this!

Agree. I finished story mode yesterday, and it was pretty shoddy all round.
I've started digging into the other modes now though, and I'm starting to feel slightly more positive about it.

Glad I waited, was desperate for some golf and since I'm not getting a Playstation just to play Everybodys Golf, Mario Golf was going to be it. But it sounds like some of the replay isn't there. Six courses feels poor.

All those rumours about that spec update, 4K, DLSS, etc, and all we get is a bigger screen .

Really looking forward to playing all those sub-native games on a bigger screen!

Switch Pro needed to happen. Very disappoint Nintendo. No rat tracing is another bummer!

Well, that's mildly disappointing.
Enhancements to handheld functionality. Meh.
I won't be getting one.

I play 99% in handheld and the idea of a better and bigger screen intrigues me, but not for the price they're asking.

I was hoping for improved internal specs, not an OLED screen. Not even a massive horsepower boost - even 1080p 60fps or 1440p 60fps would be an awesome upgrade.

I'd like to know how anyone actually expected this to happen. Nvidia haven't actually released a Tegra in two years, and as far as I know, that one doesn't have the tensor cores required for dlss. Then there's the fact that dlss is built into the game, not the drivers. No existing games would have supported it.

Ray tracing is overrated IMO. Nice to have but not nearly as beneficial as a stable frame rate above 60fps.

Yep. It doesn't come close to justifying the resources it requires at this stage, it needs a killer app that utilizes it in a way that actually matters.

Bigger screen on the new Switch is nice, but not nice enough to convince me to upgrade. None of the other improvements matter to me- I've already got plenty of storage, I forgot the kickstand even existed, and while the benefits are obvious for online play I don't need an Ethernet port. I will however be picking up a set of those white joycons and slapping them on my launch Switch.

Looking at getting a bluetooth adapter to connect my AirPod Pros to the Switch. HomeSpot and GuilKit are apparently decent, I've got my eye on the HomeSpot Bluetooth Adapter Pro. It lets you connect to two devices so you can hear game audio and Spotify (or whatever) from your phone. Seems like a really good solution for online chat too if I ever play anything like that. Just a little concerned about latency given the AirPoops don't support aptx or whatever. Anyone tried anything like this?
