I drive a 96 MR2 (NA - Aus Delivered). One day it will get an Engine transplant but for now the Engine is in far too good nick to be swapped out.
Recently bought a little brother for it (88 MR2 -Aus delivered). Which is primarily the girlfriends car (part of the big push to get her into a licence) but I use it as a runabout quite regularly due to the stupidity of petrol costs. Little ripper of a car, handles like a dream.

Bought it end of 2004 for $16k w/ rego, full electrics, sunroof, spoiler, alloys, faux-woodgrain dash (omg), AWD and cruise. Fucking love it.
Just had to get four new tyres for it today though, set me back $500
Good man I've seen thos wood dashes, they look gangster
I have a '91 gen 1 Liberty wagon AWD 2.2L with cruise. It was one of those fuck around models with air bag suspension that failed on me 6 months after I bought it. Despite being totally impractical to drive, it was completely dumped on all fours and looked MAAAAAD! So now it has brand new Monroe struts that I put in myself... $1700 just for the parts. I was very poor that week...
I used to have the same gen GX Liberty Wagon. I off-loaded it after the air-bag suspension started to go. It was a good car, nice to drive, and easy to fold down the back seats and chuck a mattress in.
I had an EF with XR bodykit and tickford bits.. So kinda an XR6 without the round lights.. Was a good car but for that fatal flaw.. Pitty the people who fixed it under warranty were incompetant. Ended up getting a new gasket kit and fixing it with a mate over a weekend and fucking it off. I just couldn't trust it anymore after what I had seen done by the so called pro's...

Are you trying to kill your girlfriend?
What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!
She'll be fine. I've put the fear of god into her about snap oversteer and besides I think you will find people finding themselves facing the rong way are driving at the edge of their limits and most definately above the law.
If theres one thing you should never be doing on a road it is driving at your limit... Add in any tiny variable and you got nothing. **yeah yeah gramps etc etc **
Fuck I wish mate. Seen quite a few of them around, that was at a customers house where I went to once so snapped it up. Seen this mint as black one in Kensington a few times, sex on wheels.
I dont own a car, I own a mountain bike.

Absolutely fine. I haven't had a problem mechanically. Electronically though, well that's a whole new story. One of the computer chips in it is fucked. Trying to lock the door the normal way makes the locks go up and down and up and down for about 10 seconds. The locking button inside the car doesn't work at all anymore either. As with cruise control.
But other than that, 295,000km and still going strong
I reckon they're so good for a first car, you can get them so cheap.
