Re: Official BOARDWALK EMPIRE Thread of your new favourite s
Hmmm been looking for a new show to download. Will have to try this.
Completely opposite genre, but I was hooked on The Inbetweeners for a while there. Fuck that was one of the funniest shows in years. Shame the final season was kind of sucky.

So my flatmates and I recently finished rewatching the first season and just started the second season.
Fuck me if it isn't the best show since The Sopranos.

Aw that sucks to hear. How can you not love the crazy antics of the Agent Van Alden and the cool as fuck Chalky White?

That's a good idea, actually. How far are we in season 2?Scullibundo wrote:So my flatmates and I recently finished rewatching the first season and just started the second season.

Re: Official BOARDWALK EMPIRE Thread of your new favourite s
I watched the first couple of eps and realised that this is a show I need to watch in a single sitting. So I waited until the first season finished airing and forgot about it.

Yep. Single sitting is exactly how to do it. We watched the whole first season within a week. Was much better than waiting week to week, as you don't forget all the small plot threads.

Yep. Nucky is going to fuck these assholes up good and proper.
Re: Official BOARDWALK EMPIRE Thread of your new favourite s
Munya is pissed off too, shit is brewing.
I can't believe it took me until last night's ep to realise that Leander Cephas Whitlock is played by Dominic Chianese, better known as Corrado Soprano.
Also another bit of info I stumbled upon last night was that Michael Shannon (Van Alden) is set to play General Zod in the Man of Steel. Seems like an excellent choice to me!

I'm half way through this season and still I'm not sold on it being the best show on TV. I also get how if the Sopranos appealed to you then this show is your next best choice though. A few good moments in each episode is the upside. But it's far from riveting.

Re: Official BOARDWALK EMPIRE Thread of your new favourite s
Very late to the party - I just got around to watching this (most of the first season so far). I love the way Plex is handling TV seasons complete with theme music as I browse the episodes. That’s pretty cool. I also love that opening theme song for Boardwalk Empire, and in general it's a fucken brilliant show. A couple times there I planned to watch just one or two episodes and had to stop myself after watching 4 in a row or something. I’ll be wanting to grab the second season of this soon...
...and then presumably the 3rd series will be on sometime this year, and I’ll be in that horrible situation of desperately wanting to see each new episode as it’s aired. Not looking forward to that (it will be the same for Game of Thrones season 2). I’d much rather be late to the party but able to sit down and watch them in large batches.

Well if you're going to wait a long time for Season 2, I suggest you avoid any and all threads about it. BIG fucking spoilers all around the internet. It is an excellent series. My favourite behind The Sopranos. Second season confirmed that for me.

I finished season 2 a while back.
Mad Men is a much better period drama.

Anyone watching season 4? I think I'm beginning to lose interest...

I've been watching it. Loving it.
Like every the start of every other season, it's setting up all the cards beautifully. I like where they took Rothstein and Meyer in the most recent episode.
Best show currently on television.
